Auction Charities

Wild in Art are delighted to have been able to support Liverpool’s Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal 2008 (Registered Charity No: 229539) through the Go Superlambananas event. One of the most rewarding legacies of this event was the auction of the Superlambananas. 75% of the net proceeds of the Main Auction and 25% of the proceeds of the Internet Auction have been donated to the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal, which includes the following charities:

The Alder Hey Imagine Appeal

alder Hey Image Appeal
Alder Hey’s Imagine Appeal ensures that the pioneering work of Europe’s largest children’s hospital continues and makes a real difference to the 200,000 young patients we see each year. With your support, Imagine provides all those extra things that make life more bearable for children in hospital. From the latest medical equipment to facilities and improving the environment for patients and their families, every donation counts. In addition, Imagine funds research into those conditions that our children suffer from today in the hope that they won’t suffer from them in the future.

The Marina Dalglish Appeal

The Marina Daglish AppealWe are delighted that The Marina Dalglish Appeal has reached its original target of £1.5m and that the centre for Oncology at University Hospital, Aintree, opened on 4 June 2007. The unit provides the ideal environment for patients to receive chemotherapy to treat all forms of cancer. The centre also offers supportive care including complementary and homeopathic treatments and practices. There is also a designated drop in centre which provides specialised 'holistic' professional care, information and advice to help patients and their families through their cancer journey, in an atmosphere that is sensitive and responsive to their individual needs. It is through your continued support and generous contributions that we have been able to achieve our goal.

We have now set ourselves a new and exciting challenge in conjunction with Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology to help build a much needed Radiotherapy Centre in University Hospital Aintree, bringing the treatment closer to the patients.

Liverpool’s Heart and Chest Hospital’s Merseybeat Appeal

Liverpool’s Heart and Chest Hospital’s Merseybeat AppealThe Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital is dedicated to reducing heart and lung disease and in 1998 we launched the Merseybeat Appeal to support research projects undertaken at the hospital. The Hospital uses the funds raised to maintain and develop standards of excellence in patient care. Our pioneering researchers and scientists have contributed to vital advances in cardiovascular medicine, helping to prevent heart and lung disease and improving treatments for patients of the future.
