A big Thank-Ewe from Wild in Art

For ten weeks during this summer, hundreds of thousands of tourists, visitors and residents had fun exploring the city and discovering 125 Superlambananas, beautifully created by artists and communities from Liverpool.

Go Superlambananas is the culmination of the many productive and creative relationships between a lot of different people and organisations. Sincere thank ‘ewe’s’ to all the Super artists, sponsors, community groups and individuals who made this amazing event happen.

The now iconic ‘SuperLambBanana’ sculpture; originally the vision of Japanese-based artist Taro Chiezo in 1998, was specially reproduced to act as a 3d canvas to showcase the creativity of Liverpool - its people, its places, its heritage, regeneration, and world renowned arts scene.

On behalf of everyone who has seen and enjoyed the superlambananas this summer, we would like to thank all the artists and community groups of Liverpool for the joy that their work has brought to the city.

Special thanks go to Liverpool Culture Company – who shared our vision to create this truly inspiring event as a highlight of the European Capital of Culture summer programme. And, to the very many sponsors who enabled this ambitious project to take place.

May we also take this opportunity to thank the people of Liverpool for their warmth, participation and constant encouragement in creating a true legacy for Liverpool.
